ORSI Ahmedabad Chapter, in collaboration
with Production & Quantitative Methods,
Indian Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad is pleased to announce
Workshop for Students of Operations
Research (OR). The workshop is meant for
Students of Management, Commerce,
Economics, Engineering, Computer
Science, Information Technology,
Mathematics and Statistics. The research
students and the junior teachers of
Management may also benefit from this
workshop.
The purpose of this workshop is to
introduce the scientific discipline of
Operations Research and its
applications. Operations
Research/Management Science enables one
to structure a complex real life
problem, generate alternatives towards
the resolution of the problem and find
an appropriate choice to satisfy the
conflicting needs of various
stakeholders. In the simple form,
Operations Research enables a decision
maker to improve resource productivity.
Focus of the workshop will be on the
contemporary topics of Operations
Research like Decision Analysis,
Optimization, Stochastic Models,
Decision Support Systems, Quantitative
Techniques, Revenue Management,
Forecasting, Operations Management in
Service Industry, etc.
Workshop will consist broadly of
Lectures, Case discussions, Tutorials on
special topics, presentations by
Industry Speakers.
This workshop would begin on 10th
August, 2008 and close on 14th August,
2008.

Registration fee is Rs.5,000/-
Fee includes access to workshop
material, breakfast, lunch, dinner and
beverages. Participants have choice to
stay out of IIM Ahmedabad campus.
