The Operational Research
Society of India, Ahmedabad Chapter in
collaboration with the Production and
Quantitative Method Areas of Indian Institute of
Management, Ahmedabad is pleased to announce the
Fourth Conference in the series of National
Conferences on Management Science and Practice
(MSP 2009) during February 13 - 15, 2009.
The Conference is open to academicians and
practitioners working in the broad area of
applied management science. The purpose of this
Conference is to provide an opportunity for
scholars working in the broad area of applied
management science to present and to gain
exposure to the current demands and
opportunities. We hope to promote interaction
among industry and academia through such
conferences. Often such interactions were proven
to lead to new and challenging research areas.
Contributed papers are
invited for this Conference in
the area of
management science with a clear focus on
application. Ideally, the presentation should
focus on a problem of practical importance or
discuss a methodology which has relevant and
meaningful application in real life. We seek
contributions from industry emphasizing an
application with appropriate academic rigor.
This Conference is scheduled to begin on 13th
February , 2009 and will end on 15th February,
2009 |

ORSI Ahmedabad Chapter
has launched a series of national conferences
under the title Management Science and Practices
with an aim to promote the discipline of
Operations Research in India. The primary
purpose of this conference series is to discuss
and disseminate applied operations research in
the Indian context. These conferences are
expected to provide a meeting ground for
industry specialists and application oriented
academicians. These conferences are also
expected to provide a wide exposure to young
research students to develop an understanding of
emerging areas of research.
The first conference in this series was held in
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad during
March 31 – April 1, 2006 in honor of Professor
Jahar Saha on the occasion of his superannuation
from the Indian Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad. This conference was attended by about
100 participants. About 50 scientific papers
were presented in this conference. The edited
volume of the proceedings of the conference is
published.
The second conference was held at Department of
Management Sciences, IIT Madras, Chennai during
March 9 – 11, 2007 in memory of Professor S.K.
Srinivasan, Professor Emeritus, Department of
Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology
Madras, Chennai. This second conference in the
series was attended by around 200 participants
and presented papers include 100 contributed
papers and around 28 invited presentations by
eminent personalities from academics and
industry.
The third conference in the series (MSP 2008)
was held at Indian Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad during March 22 – 24, 2008, theme of
the conference being OR in Governance. It was
attended by 120 participants approximately and
presentations include about 100 contributed
papers and about a dozen invited presentations
by eminent personalities from academics,
industry and government. |
